Nick is a single Italian-American from New Jersey whose retired parents live in Florida. When he is offered a dream job and is prepared to move away to take it, the grandparents begin plotting to keep him around. Who will run Nick's life, his grandparents or himself? This is a warm and hilarious family comedy, with universal themes and broad appeal.

SPRING CABARET

May 2 & 3, 2008

THE MIKADO (operetta)
by Gilbert & Sullivan

AT WHITAKER CENTER
June 6-8, 11-15, 2008

Arguably the most popular of all the G & S comic operas, this story is set in the fantastical "Japanese" town of Titipu, where the much-feared Mikado of Japan has ruled it a crime to flirt in public. This hilarious and satirical piece of nonsense can be enjoyed by all ages. It contains many well-loved tunes such as "Three Little Maids from School," "The Flowers That Bloom in the Spring" and "Tit-Willow." Very English, very silly, and completely delightful-and in the public domain!

Rating: G - For General Audiences.
